MAISON LOUZOANE: A Provençal paradise of sweet treats and delicacies.

Having fallen in love with the Alpilles region over a decade ago, Cécile and Baptiste Mansanti left their native Burgundy with their family to settle permanently in Maussane-les-Alpilles.

After more than 25 years as a public works entrepreneur—and having made many sacrifices to grow his business—Baptiste decided to help his wife bring her own dream to life. Thanks to local connections, they purchased an old building with undeniable charm in the heart of Maussane-les-Alpilles in 2025.

A year later, following a complete renovation, a teahouse and ice cream parlor was born. The goal was to create a welcoming, comfortable space featuring an air-conditioned interior and a shaded outdoor area complete with a beautiful fountain made of cut limestone from Les Baux-de-Provence.

Cécile, a qualified pastry chef, specializes in crafting incredibly flavorful macarons using premium ingredients and generous portions.

She also creates muffins, cicada-shaped shortbread cookies, cupcakes, macaron tarts, and a host of other delicacies.

However, she is also a talented cake designer—her true passion. This involves creating custom-made cakes tailored to each client’s wishes and preferences (for weddings, birthdays, christenings, family gatherings, etc.). The only limit to her unique creations is your imagination.

Maison Louzoane also offers services to businesses, including custom macarons (featuring logos, for example) and shortbread cookies (in various shapes), as well as the use of their “carrettino.” This is a vintage-style ice cream and sorbet cart that can be used to set up an ice cream station at private events. The tea room’s shop offers a wide range of coffees—ground, whole bean, or in capsules—from the roaster *La Major*. You will also find a complete selection of chocolates (both powdered and bars) and an extensive range of herbal, green, and black teas from *Maison Dammann*.

Artisanal ice creams and sorbets take center stage, featuring bold, distinctive flavors. Carefully crafted sundaes and gourmet dessert combinations allow you to sample a variety of specialties.

*Maison Louzoane* also offers an excellent selection of hot and cold drinks. In addition to superb coffee from the Arles-based roaster *La Major*—prepared on an exceptional machine worthy of the finest establishments by barista Lucas—you can enjoy fruit juices and nectars from *Maison Patrick Font* that reflect the changing seasons, alongside a house-made *Carcadet de Provence* iced tea.

During the winter season, the menu features authentic hot chocolate, waffles, and crêpes—all served with homemade whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Simply divine.

What does *Maison Louzoane* mean? To solve the mystery, just ask Benitez, the welcoming and smiling server.

Future projects are already in the works, such as macaron-making workshops for cooking enthusiasts and food lovers alike.

The couple is also considering offering savory specialties during the holiday season, such as foie gras macarons (plain, truffle, fig, apricot, etc.) and *gougères*—a popular Burgundian appetizer made of small choux pastries with Comté cheese.

Opening hours:

Wednesday to Sunday, 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

Adjoining this establishment, a year-round vacation rental—”Le Louzoane” (www.lelouzoane.com)—is also available, featuring three bedrooms, a swimming pool, and two terraces.
